This class if your solution! Join us, as you make your own pair of Hudson pants! These cozy joggers will help you gain the confidence to work with knits in a new way.
We're ready to answer any questions you may have about working with knits, de-mystify the process of construction, and help you achieve pant that's uniquely you.

selecting stitch settings for sewing knits
optional seam finishes for knits
sewing an elastic waistband
sewing buttonholes
attaching cuffs (and how to work with ribbing if you choose to)
Class Duration: 3.5 hours
Students Bring: You will prepare your pattern and cut out all of your fabric pieces prior to arriving at class. About a week before class we will email you a video that covers how to prep your material and cut out your pattern and fabric. You will need to bring,

scrap material
coordinating thread
Medium weight knits such as cotton lycra, french terry, ponte, lightweight scuba and sweatshirt knit with a suggested stretch of at least 25%.
2” wide elastic (2 yds) for the waistband,
1/4” wide cording (3 yds) for the drawstring
2” x 1” scrap of fusible interfacing for the drawstring holes
We will supply all the needed tools and sewing machines. You are welcome to bring your own machine if you prefer.
Please note that instruction will be for a sewing machine and not a serger. If you want to sew on your own serger, you should make sure you're confident setting it up and sewing with it - this is not recommended for beginner
Needed Materials: You will need to purchase the Hudson Pant directly From True Bias. You can print the file at home and tape it together, or order an A0 PDF print from us. Knit fabric for your garment. Check out our selection of knits here.
You will leave with: The knowledge and confidence to work with knit fabrics! We'll cover direction of greatest stretch, how to dial in your knit stitch.
Skill Level: Intermediate
You should have a good amount of sewing experience, and have made at least 1 garment on your own before attending class. It's okay if this is your first knit project! Overall you should be comfortable operating and troubleshooting a standard sewing machine, and able to maintain a consistent seam allowance.
